I have never really looked into the Commé des Garçon brand until this past summer when I experienced the creativity and beauty that creative director, Rei Kawakubo, displays in her many pieces. After visiting the Commé des Garçon exhibit in New York at the Metropolitan Museum, it made me have a new found love for everything Avard Guard. I loved it so much that I visited the exhibit at the Met five times. What has made me really open my eyes to this form of fashions is how so many interpretations can be drown from one piece and inspire many.

In Comme Des Garçon's Spring '18 ready to wear show, it was like the designer was taking todays trends of the season and adding them into pieces that you could never imagine to be real. She pulled from trends like color blocking, the popular textile of patent leather, a common garment detail of the ruffle and the common style trend of pairing items in a monochromatic theme. Even though you may never be able to see yourself walking the streets in these outfits, you can still pull inspiration from them for your everyday wardrobe.
